A Visit With Carol

Carol has spoken at hundreds of elementary schools throughout the United States. She also speaks at libraries, conferences and colleges.

During a presentation, Carol shows many pieces of original artwork and explains the numerous steps involved in the creation of a book, from first ideas which come after reading a manuscript, to sketches, then creating finished art and finally printed book. She emphasizes the importance of research in creating her illustrations and describes some the surprising things she learns along the way. Carol ends her talk with an on the spot drawing which she leaves with the school or library.
